Worcester-based Remade Worcestershire CIO is a finalist in the UK Social Enterprise Awards, recognising it as one of the country’s most innovative and impactful start-up enterprises.
Remade Worcestershire has been shortlisted in the prestigious ‘One to Watch’ Award, sponsored by PwC, at the 2025 UK Social Enterprise Awards. The award celebrates new social enterprises with a clear vision for the future and the potential for significant impact.

Founded in 2023, Remade Worcestershire has quickly grown into a vibrant community hub that diverts textiles and craft materials from landfill and gives them new life. Starting with just three volunteers opening one morning a week, the organisation now runs with a team of 38 volunteers, opening five days a week, and supporting people of all ages and backgrounds.
Its core activity is collecting surplus materials from upholsterers, manufacturers, and individuals, then reselling them at low cost in-store, online, and at craft events—making high-quality resources affordable and accessible to the community. Alongside this, Remade hosts workshops in sewing, crochet, patchwork, leathercraft, and creative reuse, and earlier this year staged “Fashion Fantasia”, a showcase of costumes made entirely from reclaimed materials.
In less than two years, Remade has created jobs, supported schools and community groups, and worked with partners including Worcester Cathedral, Worcester Community Trust, and local refugee projects. Its ethos is rooted in collaboration, inclusion, and sustainability.
Sue Fry, Trustee, said “We’re so thrilled to be recognised at a national level so early in our journey. Being shortlisted for the ‘One to Watch’ award is a celebration of what we’ve achieved so far and a huge boost as we continue to grow our vision to empower creativity, reduce waste, and build community resilience.”

The winners of the UK Social Enterprise Awards will be announced at a VIP ceremony at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank Centre, London, on Wednesday 26 November.
There are an estimated 131,000 social enterprises in the UK, employing more than two million people and contributing £60bn to the national economy while tackling some of the biggest challenges facing people and planet.
“Our Awards are the ultimate showcase of social enterprise impact and excellence – so those who made the shortlist represent the future of business, and a beacon of hope in turbulent times” says Peter Holbrook CBE, Chief Executive of Social Enterprise UK. “Despite economic challenges, these trailblazers are not only making profit but using it for the good of people and planet.”
